Project Details

This project entailed the installation of advanced LED sports lighting and supporting infrastructure at Tempest Park, specifically designed to accommodate night-time football matches and training sessions. In addition, the system provides general area floodlighting to facilitate community use outside of scheduled competition hours. The initiative was undertaken to enhance safety, visibility, and overall functionality during evening activities for both athletes and the broader community.

Utilizing the latest in LED lighting technology, the installation ensures optimal energy efficiency and long-term operational cost savings. The project scope encompassed the deployment of a new sports floodlighting system alongside community area lighting, all carefully engineered to comply with illumination standards for competitive football, training, and recreational use.

Additional works included the installation of a 38-metre long ball catch fence positioned behind the goalposts, the replacement of the existing goalposts with new marine-grade aluminium AFL goalposts, and the implementation of precision GPS line marking on the playing field.

The LED lighting system delivers exceptional brightness and uniform coverage, significantly improving the experience for players and spectators alike.

A new floodlighting distribution board was installed to manage the system’s power requirements and ensure reliable operation. Directional drilling was used for conduit installation, minimising disruption to the playing surface. All works were carried out in line with relevant industry standards and best practices
